The Celium Technologies Team are delighted to announce Joining the LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator<\/a> cohort of 2025!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After a number of years of defining the scope and building our bed flow optimisation technology, Dr. Phillip Townend<\/a> (Director of Medical Research) and I (Jack Rankin<\/a> – Director of Business Development) are delighted to announce that our Celium Technologies team has been accepted into LuminaX’s HealthTech Accelerator program for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is to optimise the availability of beds in Queensland Hospitals leading to reduced patient waiting times, staff burnout and ambulance ramping. We believe that by joining the LuminaX cohort of 2025 that this will fuel our growth, attracting the required investment to have a meaningful impact in improving healthcare for all Queenslanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator cohort is set to push the boundaries of healthcare innovation with this year\u2019s startups tackling everything from AI-powered mental health support<\/strong> to biotech inventions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diversity and calibre of the startups reflect Australia\u2019s rapidly growing healthtech sector, showcasing a surge in innovation across multiple fields in health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While previous LuminaX cohorts have primarily focused on Software as a Service (SaaS), the 2025 lineup brings a more diverse mix, including AI as a Service<\/strong>, medical devices<\/strong>, and groundbreaking biotech solutions<\/strong>. This evolution highlights the shifting healthcare landscape and the expanding opportunities within the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cohort\u2019s focus aligns with the 2024 Australian Startup Funding Report, which highlights strong investment in MedTech & BioTech (AU$350M)<\/strong> and HealthTech (AU$170M)<\/strong>. As the sector gains momentum, Australia is solidifying its position as a health innovation hub, and this year\u2019s cohort exemplifies that progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Griffith University<\/strong> is also celebrating a milestone, with three of its research ventures making it into the accelerator. This highlights the power of translating academic discoveries into commercial solutions that can address real-world healthcare challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEach year, the number and quality of applications in LX continues to rise, but what excites me most about this cohort is the diversity. While SaaS health startups have traditionally led the way, this year we\u2019ve seen a remarkable surge in devices and biotech innovations, along with AI-powered solutions designed to scale\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in its fifth year<\/strong>, the LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator is proud to welcome 11 startups<\/strong>, 22 founders<\/strong>, and 40 mentors<\/strong> to its 2025 cohort. The program is supported by Major Partners: Economic Development Queensland, the City of Gold Coast, and QIC, alongside Industry Partners: Griffith University, Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, IntelliHQ, and the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ascenda <\/a>\u2013 Scaling mental health care through AI digital twins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BioProSep<\/a> \u2013 Develops and manufactures bioseparation materials that enable the efficient recovery of biologics during industrial manufacture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celium Technologies<\/a> \u2013 Optimising hospital bed waiting times & reducing ambulance ramping for hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GenAqua<\/a> \u2013 Manufacture devices reducing Hospital Acquired Infections in health facilities occurring from potable water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heali <\/a>\u2013 a digital treatment plan platform that lets clinicians create, share, and track care plans, using reusable templates, and real-time monitoring to improve adherence and simplify patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LiveQ <\/a>\u2013  a Telehealth platform that combines clinically approved wearable devices with real-time monitoring and secure communication to enable rehabilitation providers to deliver remote cardiac rehabilitation services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
